ABOUT ME

Sarah Syrett

Registered Social Worker, MSW, RSW

she/her

Hi, I'm Sarah! I'm a queer, gender nonconforming human known for my overly expressive face, exuberant laugh, and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. Most importantly, I've found my calling supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. While pursuing a career in Social Work, I had my big gay awakening which opened the door to a wild and rewarding ride to personal growth, healing, and deep self-discovery. From uncovering my own sexuality and gender expression, to coming out to friends and family, to finding community and committing to living fully and authentically, I've learned that the queer journey is like no other. I discovered I wasn't meant to hide in this life, and neither are you.

compassion with a side of humour

You don't have to have it all figured out and you don't have to do it alone.

As queer people, we're taught early on to squeeze into arbitrary, prescriptive boxes that stifle our self-trust and restrict our self-expression.

My goal in our work together is to create an environment where you feel safe to freely explore and liberate yourself from that box - piece by piece - so you can know, accept, and love yourself, paving the way for more joy in everyday life, more fulfillment in relationships, and more self-honouring interactions with the world around you.

If you are a youth or adult who identifies as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community or is questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, and you are experiencing challenges around self-esteem or self-worth, low mood or low life satisfaction, anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, I would be honoured to meet with you.
